Life Can Be HardAt times, everyone needs help navigating the twists and turns in the road. You may be living each day with anxiety that feels unmanageable, or feeling down about your past decisions or current situation. Maybe you are experiencing a challenging relationship, or struggling to regulate difficult emotions such as fear, anger, grief, or sadness. Perhaps you feel stuck, unmotivated, or critical of yourself. You are not alone.
All of these issues are part of the shared human experience. They are painful yet expected elements of life, and you can navigate them more confidently with the necessary support, tools, and resources. Therapy is a great way to assess what's not working, and move toward the life you really want. I'd love to meet with you and see how I can help! |

What To Expect
Counselling is a collaborative discovery process between you and your therapist with the intent to improve overall wellness, increase understanding of self, and create some goals toward creating the life you want. My approach is person-centered, calming, and accepting. At first it may feel tough to reach out to a counsellor, but a bit of fear is normal. Most people find the experience is better than they expected, and often feel a sense of hope and relief after beginning the process.
Counselling Philosophy
Your unique set of strengths, experiences, coping skills, relationships, (and some genetics!) all contribute to your ability to live well. Improving your overall wellness is my top priority. Most of us have some blind spots about what might be hindering us from living our best life, and a counsellor can help you see and understand yourself more clearly. I help my clients shift from a critical view of themselves to a compassionate and curious lens which creates a mindset of self-acceptance. Acceptance is one of the most effective tools for living a joyful and meaningful life.
Think of a counsellor as a mountaineering guide. They do not choose your destination; their role is to help you summit safely and effectively. Your counsellor travels with you, lending their expertise, helping you choose the optimal route, and assisting you in identifying and preparing for obstacles along the way. A good counsellor will help you discover your strengths, highlight areas of concern, and point out the beautiful moments along the way. |
